It was both a busy and exciting week here at PBRA with our first week of summer camp under our belt, culminating with the SFHJA June show on Sunday. We also want to wish a very happy Father’s Day to all of the horse show dads, especially those who spent their day here at PBRA! As a reminder, during camp sessions only limited weekday lessons will be available and there will be no lessons this weekend due to our horse show, June 25/26, so please plan your makeups (or just come and horse show!) accordingly. I am also in need of at least 2 parent (or responsible child) volunteers to help hand out ribbons at our show next weekend. Please let me know ASAP if you can help, it would be much appreciated!
Our very own Tropical Horse Show series is here! Come beat the heat June 25-26. This is a fantastic opportunity for ALL PBRA riders to get experience in the show ring. “R” judge Christina Schlusemeyer will also be hosting a clinic Friday, June 24th before the horse show, highlighting form over function in the show ring- spaces are limited so sign up soon! There is a session for both ponies followed by 2’6+ section.
It’s also not to late to become a sponsor for our 2016 Tropical Series! Still looking for a few division and event sponsors, if interested please contact Laura Bostwick at laura@equestriansport.com. Congratulations to the following horses and riders for their performances at SFHJA June:
Hannah Glanzberg & “Silvershine” put in their most consistent trips to date in the short stirrup divisions. This pair rode their way to the top of the pack, earning Reserve Champion in the equitation division. This pair also earned a 2nd in the under saddle and two fourths over fences in the short stirrup Hunter division. Congratulations, your hard work and determination continue to pay off!
Abby Eidelman & “Billy the Kid” returned to the short stirrup hunter ring for the second time in their career and rode their way to top ribbons over fences. Not bad for an ex- polo pony!! Great job!
Abby Eidelman & PBRA’s “Eyes on Me” made their short stirrup show ring debut together and did a fantastic job! This pair earned two seconds over fences and 4th on the flat in the hunter division, and turned right back around and earned two thirds over fences and a 5th on the flat in the equitation. Way to go, keep up the great work!
Scarlet Siskind & PBRA’s “Almost a Valentine” retuned to the short stirrups ring and deceived a stellar performance, earning Champion in the Hunter division and Reserve Champion in the equitation division. Fantastic job this weekend, this pair keeps on learning and improving together as a team.
Reily Malt & “Rather Clever” made their show ring debut together in the 2’6 Child/Adult equitation after almost a year’s hiatus from the show ring. This pair earned top ribbons, a third over fences and in the warm up and 2nd in their flat. Great job, keep up the good work!
Gianna Garofalo & PBRA’s “Cruise” made their jumper ring debut this weekend and did a fantastic job. This pair went clear in both their .70 puddle jumper speed round and .75 tadpole jumper round. So proud of your progress together, great job!

** All available PBRA riders should support our series! Classes for all ages & all levels**
Please let me know ASAP if you wish to be added to our roster. Aside from away ‘A’ shows we will NOT be braiding until the fall. For ‘A’ shows Manes: $55 -Julie Smith is our braider and expects payment by the Saturday of the horse show. Credit cards are preferred, Checks are ok. Any Braiding cash must be left in our box!
CAMP PBRA 2016 Dates:
Tuesday – Friday; 9:00-2:00 *extended day available upon request*; Ages 5-13; Maximum 10 kids per session, so if you are interested in signs up please do so sooner rather than later – these sessions will be heavily publicized this year! Please also let me know if any junior PBRA riders would be interested in counsellors in training during those weeks!
Camp I: June 14-17
Camp II: June 21-24
Camp III: July 5-9
Camp IV: July 19-22
Camp V: August 2-5
Please let me know if you or any of your friends are interested in signing up!! It is $350 for club PBRA members, $400 for non-members. Extended day available at an extra $25/day.
