Roberto Daza Closes Out ESP Summer Series With Another $10,000 Lactanase 1.35m Open Stake Victory Aboard Sissi Dior

Wellington, FL – October 1, 2019 – This past weekend marked the end of the ESP Summer Series and another big win for Roberto Daza of Royal Palm Beach, FL at the ESP Rita & Irish Memorial competition. Daza rode Fernanda Dib Gabriel’s Sissi Dior to victory in Sunday’s $10,000 Lactanase 1.35m Open Stake, after completing the jump-off in just 38.9 seconds. Carlo Graziani of Loxahatchee, FL took home second place after his performance aboard his entry Erato M, crossing through the timers in 42.885 seconds and with one fault added to the score. Completing the jump-off with a faster time of 38.093 seconds but with four faults total, was Samuel Parot of Wellington, FL riding Parot Horses LLC’s I & H Boogy Woogy to win the third-place ribbon.

Both the fourth and fifth place positions were captured by Diego Perez Bilbao of Wellington, FL. Bilbao piloted Zera 23, owned by Victoria Vargas D’Agostino, through the jump-off in 40.116 seconds and with eight faults to secure fourth place, while his own Helios finished round one in 86.678 seconds and with two faults to take home the pink ribbon. Hector Loyola was the course designer once again for Sunday’s feature class which saw a total of 19 horse-and-rider pairs contest the 1.35m track.

Jumper Highlights 
The $1,500 Equiline Medium Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic was championed by Lily Alice Foregger of Waterbury, VT and her Balestha after they completed the track in 86.737 seconds and with one fault. Close behind with a 86.996-second round and five faults was Anne “Daisy” Foregger of Waterbury Center, VT riding Cordina, owned by Elizabeth Hinckley. Amalie Hoerdum of Powder Springs, GA piloted her entry, Gørklintgard’s Diarano to a third-place finish after the 85.321-second course and eight faults added to their score.

Hailey Royce of Gurnee, IL bested the competition with Emily Marschok’s La Disco in the $1,500 Equiline Low Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic after their quick 37.09-second jump-off, while Hunter Kava of Parkland, FL and Miss Moneypenny, owned by Hunter McLean Stables, LLC, finished the jump-off close behind in 37.162 seconds to claim second. Emily Lefler of Oviedo, FL rode her Eros to a third-place victory after their 88.802-second round with four total faults added.

Lily Alice Foregger of Waterbury, VT claimed another win, this time aboard Elizabeth Hinckley’s Caramel, inthe $1,500 M&S Child/Adult Amateur Jumper Classic presented by Dover Saddlery. The duo completed the jump-off in just 36.859 seconds. In second place with a jump-off lasting 38.414 total seconds, stood Dolores Funes of Wellington, FL and her entry, JK Horse Trucks Chantilly. Jill Winters of Lake Worth, FL took home the yellow ribbon with her own Sterling Un Prince after they crossed through the timers in 42.029 seconds.
The $1,500 Low Child/Adult Amateur Jumper Classic presented by French Horse Exports saw Charlotte Clivio of Miami, FL claim the blue ribbon after her 38.892-second performance aboard Carrara 11, owned by Helen Krieble. LeAnn Ablin of Palm Beach, FL rode Rumorosa, owned by Harlow Investment Enterprises, LLC, to a second-place victory after finishing the jump-off track in 41.162 seconds. Rounding out the top three was Audrey Lopes of Boca Raton, FL and Kristin Schuttenmeyer’s Code Red once they completed the second round in 41.545 seconds.
Only five entries contested the 1.20m Semican High Schooling Jumper competition last Sunday and Sebastian Robayo of Wellington, FL topped the leaderboard riding Liselotte Sandberg’s Diablo F through the timers in 40.025 seconds. Maddy Lima of Weston, FL piloted her entry, Liesbeth 7 to second place after a 42.055-second trip and four faults, while Carlo Graziani of Loxahatchee, FL and Dame, owned by Heather Wasilausky, took home third place upon completion of the jump-off in 43.323 seconds.

Amy Foster was also presented the Rita Irish Memorial Trophy by Karen Flynn over the weekend.

Hunter Highlights
The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Children’s/Adult Hunter division named Isabella Dean of Boca Raton, FL champion after an amazing performance aboard her Butterfly Flash, while Aubrey Deluca of Lake Worth, FL and her entry, Oberon took home the reserve ribbon.
Naier Chen of Brossard, QC stood at the top of the podium in last week’s Score At The Top Small Pony Hunter division with her own mount, Shenandoah Sirocco.
Boca Raton, FL’s Ashlin Arnett and Allison George’s Champagne Problems claimed the champion victory in the USHJA Hunter 2’3” division, while Lucille Allegre of Windemere, FL and her Evinok finished in reserve position.
The tricolor ribbon in the USHJA Hunter 2’6” division was awarded to Emily Stowe of Coconut Creek, FL and her Lucille, while Mr. Snuffleupagus, owned by Emily Stowe, was piloted by Faith Schuttemeyer of Boca Raton, FL to a reserve victory.
Wellington’s Alan Korotkin bested the competition with Lissa Bachner’s Meridian in the USHJA Hunter 2’9” & 3’ division, while Daniel Cohn of Ocala, FL aboard Desafinada, owned by Kathleen Cohn, took home the reserve ribbon.
The Rita Flynn Memorial Trophy is awarded to the trainer who best exemplifies Rita Flynn by being courteous and prompt. The recipient consistently sets an example by having their clients to the ring and prepared in a timely manner, whereby helping to keep the show running smoothly. This year’s Rita Flynn Memorial Trophy was presented to Amy Foster by Karen Flynn.
