REMINDER: Your Safe Sport Training May Be Coming Up Soon!

Dec 20, 2020 - 10:59 AM

Don’t forget that your Safe Sport training, whether it is your first time or an annual renewal, may be needed by the end of the year! As per the U.S. Center for SafeSport and US Equestrian, yearly training is mandatory in order to continue to participate in the sport for US Equestrian members aged 18 or older. Safe Sport training remains up-to-date for one year since you last took the course, at which point the training lapses. For many US Equestrian members, their current Safe Sport training will expire on December 31, 2020.

As per USEF rules: riders, trainers, owners, and other individuals who have not completed their required Safe Sport training will not be allowed to participate in USEF competitions until the requirement is met.

SafeSport training is essential in creating a safer environment for our competitors. Regardless of whether your engagement with equestrian sport brings you into everyday contact with young participants or not, SafeSport training is required. If this is your first year taking the training, you will need to complete the online SafeSport course that lasts approximately 90 minutes and only needs to be completed once. Thirty-minute refresher courses must be completed annually thereafter.

If you need to complete your Safe Sport training, you can access the training HERE after logging into your US Equestrian account.
