Final Days to Vote! Help Equestrian Sport Productions Win the Providencia Award

Apr 19, 2022 - 1:12 PM

Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP) is one of three finalists for the 30th Annual Providencia Award from Discover The Palm Beaches! The Providencia Award is given annually to a local business, organization, or individual based on their extraordinary contributions to the vitality and prosperity of The Palm Beaches as a tourist destination. The 2022 recipient of the award will be selected based on its contributions to the county during the 2021 year, a year during which COVID-19 was still a significant presence in the tourism sector.

The winner will be selected based on votes from the public, so we need your help! Vote for Equestrian Sport Productions by Friday, April 22!

Only one vote per person will be accepted during the voting period.

ESP operates Wellington International, formerly the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, which hosts the world’s largest equestrian show circuit, the Winter Equestrian Festival, which has led Wellington, Florida, to be called the “Winter Equestrian Capital of the World.” The facility hosts year-round equestrian competitions, meaning there are opportunities for tourists to compete or spectate for 40 or more weeks per year.

ESP’s flagship Winter Equestrian Festival attracts thousands of equestrians, ranging from pony riders to Olympic champions, and multitudes of spectators to Palm Beach County each winter season. Tourists have come from all 50 states, as well as countries from every continent except Antarctica. All of these visitors enjoy the local hotels, restaurants, shops, and other businesses, which help to bring significant tourism dollars to the local community and business owners. In 2021, the tourism benefit to The Palm Beaches was especially important given the hardships due to the ongoing pandemic.

Beginning in 2020 and continuing into 2021, ESP horse shows were the first to safely restart during COVID-19 in order to bring the anticipated revenue back to Palm Beach County. Though spectators were not allowed in 2021 due to health concerns, the large influx of competitors and their teams, coupled with ESP’s increased focus on broadcasting the South Florida experience via daily livestreams and extensive social media outreach, helped to boost the local economy

The 30th Providencia Award winner will be announced at the Discover The Palm Beaches’ Travel Rally Day on May 6, 2022. Thank you in advance for your support!
