Welcome Back! After experiencing the first day of our schooling shows at Equestrian Village/PBIEC post-COVID-19, we have collected feedback on various items and are making a few changes. While we had intended for everyone to select their own ride times online the day before competition, we’ve discovered the system is not quite ready for the number of classes we are opening at one time. Therefore, we will be discontinuing this option and return to the original posted order-of-go sheet, established by the in-gate crew. These will be available online at PBIEC.com by 6:30 P.M. EST the day before competition. We have also discovered for the hunters the SGL system is struggling to keep up with more than 5 classes open at once. Therefore, effective tomorrow May 23, for hunters we will return to the traditional method by posted ordered classes running separately with a warm up, pinned, and then moving on to the next section. For the jumper classes, to avoid course confusion with three open cards, the Table II, 2.1 round will be the same as the first round of the Table II.2b courses.
Additionally, we have made changes to the show schedule due to the heavy rain we experienced this morning. The Derby Field will not be used again for Saturday May 23. We have tentatively left the original derby field schedule for Sunday May 24 which will be dependent on how the ring dries out tomorrow. There is also an alternate Sunday schedule posted in case the grass is considered to be too wet for use by tomorrow afternoon. Please click here to view an updated schedule.
We would also like to remind everyone, the location of the lunging area is on the far South West corner of the property. This is adjacent to the corner of Pierson and South Shore. Please look for the signage or ask Management or Security for the location.
With the early morning rain, we really need to remind everyone of the requirement of social distancing. This was really the hardest situation for our staff to regulate having many people trying to get to shelter. PLEASE REMBER TO RETURN TO YOUR CARS IN THESE SITUATIONS. This is extremely important for social distancing requirements.
With these few exceptions, today was an extremely successful opening day. The safety of our staff and exhibitors remains of the utmost importance to our team. We are very appreciative of your patronage, cooperation, understanding and patience as we work through these adjustments to run in our “new normal.” We will continue to make the necessary changes as we learn more throughout these first few weeks. We are very happy to see you back on the show grounds competing safely!
